2023 was filled with a whole lot of newness. In March, we moved into a new house. In April, we had a baby. All of these major events required us to spend a lot of money. Amazon has been an absolute godsend for quick purchases that helped get us established in our new home. From mattresses and nightstands to baby bottles and playpens, we have purchased things that have solved almost every issue we have run into in the past year. These are my absolute favorite purchases that I have made. I hope that you can find them useful too!
I originally bought these shelves to help out with my excess of spices (I have over 50 that I’m trying to fit into my kitchen). When we moved into our house, I decided to use a few of them to house some of the hair and skin care items that we use most often. These are the best. My bathroom and kitchen looks super organized and clean. Honestly, I’m thinking about buying more for my office as well as Baby C’s room. They are perfect for books!
I bought this for the primary bathroom in the new house, and I LOVE THIS THING. My spouse has a tendency to not return items in the nook that we got them from and he uses this! I hate things being everywhere in my bathroom, and this looks so sleek and clean and has a spot for everything. I can house my clarifying shampoo, regular shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash, face scrubber, body scrubber, razor, and hair brush all on this thing plus C’s things. The best part is that you don’t have to drill it in for it to go on the wall. It comes with sticky things! It has been up for almost a year, and it is still holding on super strong. I will definitely update you all if there are any changes.
So, I accidentally bought two of these. One was super small (like 12″x19″ or so), and the other is 17″x39″, which is pretty big. I put the small one under my baby gadgets like the bottle warmer and sterilizer (surprisingly, it fit both) and had the larger one for my tea kettle, Keurig, and Nespresso. It fits all three of those machines and had additional room for some mugs, the french press, and a milk frother. It has kept the butcher block looking like new and dries super fast. C tends to be rough on things, and this has truly held up.
C and I swear by our shared calendars, and when Baby C came around, we realized that we needed to upgrade our dry-erase calendar. This comes with both the calendar and a blank dry-erase board which we like to put shopping lists and reminders on. I think the only issue that we’ve run into regarding these boards is that regular dry erase markers don’t show up as well so we had to get some neon glass markers so that we can actually see what we were writing.
We bought this veggie chopper when we started our meal prep for when I gave birth to Baby C, and I still use this thing. I’m OBSESSED with how uniformly the diced veggies come out, and the graters and slicers are also perfect. We have cooked so many meals with this thing, and it has made my life so much easier. I like to chop up onions that have been sitting on my counter right before they go bad and freeze them. This makes the process so much quicker and more efficient. I will never not recommend this.
Pregnancy and Baby
I bought a few boxes of these hangers for Baby C’s clothes, and they are FANTASTIC. I don’t have to worry about her clothes falling onto the floor, regardless of the size. I bought these as well as some with the pant clips, and they are so great. They are thin enough that I can fit a bunch of clothes in her tiny closet and just make everything look pretty and organized.
C and I both have one for our cars, and this is way better than a mirror. Instead of having to look up in your rearview mirror to check on your kiddo, you can glance up at the dashboard. It has amazing night vision, a super clear screen, and fits easily on the headrest. When we have baby #2, we’re going to upgrade to ones that have dual camera capabilities, but until then, we are absolutely pleased with this one.
I love this stroller fan so much. I first used it in the delivery room because I was sweating like a pig. It was disgusting. When we brought Baby C home, we used it when we went on walks with her because this Georgia heat is no joke. We took it up to a family reunion over the summer, and it went missing a couple of times because the output of the fan was so good that people kept wanting to use it. It is now a staple in our bag for outings between April and October.
C and I call these butt trumpets because that’s the sound that they make. Baby C had really bad gas for the first few months of her life, and these were a godsend. She had instant relief and a full dirty diaper after we used them. Now, we keep them stocked for whenever we need them. It has helped with gas and constipation.
After our move, we realized that Ginger desperately needed a new litter box. Litter Robots are way out of our price range, and we had the “dumb” version of this. I love it because, with my mom brain, I now can remember when it is time to change the litter box (or tell C to do it). Ginger loves it, and it counts every time that she uses it, so it helps me keep track of her health as she gets older.
I go through screen protectors like nobody’s business. I also hate it when people are trying to look at my screen over my shoulder. These are amazing because they hold up so well, and you can’t see anything on your screen unless you are looking at it straight on. These were an amazing investment. I plan on buying more for any new phone I get.
I think everyone who knows me knows that I absolutely hate writing in my books. I think that it is a sin, and if you ever see me writing on a page of my book, I’m having a mental break, and you should have me seek help. These sticky notes allow me to write on the page without actually writing on the page. I’ve used it for my textbooks, self-help books, and printouts that I didn’t want to mark up. They are truly amazing.
I give Souper Cubes out to all of my friends. These are the absolute best. If I make a soup or sauce or even rice with leftovers, you bet your butt that the rest of it is going into a Souper Cube and frozen for it to be eaten later. They are so useful when I just want a bowl of soup. I can pop a 2-cup serving into a small pot or into the microwave and heat it up. And the smaller ones are perfect for leftover tomato paste, pesto, minced garlic, olive oil, or pretty much anything.
I bought this power strip for the hospital; it was so useful for both C and my phone, C’s computer, my iPad, my heat pad, and all the other electronics we brought. I still use it in my office, and it is so great. I’m probably going to have to buy another for baby #2, but we’ll get there when we get there. 🙂
I still use these products on a regular basis. They have made my life so much easier. I hope that you all enjoy them as much as I do!
